SIMPLY DRAMATIC

Silk popover top dyed with pomegranate peel is designed to layer over your favorite slip dress or tank. Oversized, with a unique drape that creates an asymmetrical hemline, the style features a flattering deep V-neck and wedge shape with an extreme drop shoulder that narrows at hem, side slits, and back lattice detail. The hand-dyed pattern is created on mid-weight silk using an innovative blend of block printing and shibori techniques. The arrow design is deeply carved into wooden blocks. These are usually used to direct print onto cloth. Here, two sets of wood blocks are clamped on either side of the folded fabric and then submerged in a dye bath. The dye resists the carved motifs, which are tightly bound together, and dyes only the background space between the carved areas. Slip dress not included.
