LUMINOUS SILK

Luminous grid shibori scarf is a study in contrasts; revealing a geometric pattern, and the fluid disruption of that pattern with dye and water.

The fine woven fabric, with a glazed sparkle and shine, is created by hand by master weavers in Maheshwar. The woven fabric is folded into a layered rectangle then stitched through in a repeating grid pattern. The stitched layers are submerged in dye. The stitching resists the dye and the final pattern is revealed when the scarf is opened up. Fine needle marks are left when the stitching is removed. This is an intentional part of the design. The refreshing color is a custom blend of Marigold and Indigo.
